Dressmakers make a variety of clothing for their customers. The customer always get custom clothing that is tailored to their exact measurements. The dressmaker will quote a price by the length and difficulty of the project.

Earnings for dressmakers can vary greatly by experience. According to payscale.com, dressmakers with one to four years experience earn a median yearly salary of $11,800. Those with 20 or more years experience can earn up to $42,000 a year.
